Introducing Our Autism Care & Support
Our support helps people live as independently as possible, at home and in their community. We offer flexible support, from a few hours a week to 24-hour care, with 1:1 or 2:1 staffing when it is needed.
We support autistic people with and without a learning disability, including people with complex needs or behaviours that challenge. We work closely with families and professionals, so support is consistent and joined up.
Daily life can feel overwhelming when the world is too loud, too bright or too unpredictable. We help create calm, steady environments where people know what to expect. This includes clear routines, visual timetables and plenty of notice before any change.
We pay close attention to sensory needs. Some people need quiet spaces, soft lighting or ear defenders. Others enjoy sensory activities that help them relax. We build these into each person’s support plan.
Our team uses the communication methods that work best for each person. This may be speech, pictures, PECS, Makaton, social stories or technology. We see behaviour as a form of communication and work hard to understand what a person is telling us.
All of our staff are DBS checked and trained in autism awareness and Positive Behaviour Support.
Autistic people have the right to live full and happy lives on their own terms. We support people to follow their passions, build friendships and take part in their community in ways that feel comfortable for them.
We help people build skills for everyday life, such as cooking, shopping, travelling and managing money. We go at the person’s pace and celebrate every step forward.
OUR APPROACH
We follow Positive Behaviour Support. We look for the reasons behind distress, such as sensory overload, anxiety or a change in routine, and put plans in place to prevent it. Our goal is to reduce anxiety, avoid restrictive practices and help each person live the life they choose.
