Introducing Our Drug & Alcohol Support

Hallmark Healthcare Services supports adults aged 18 and over whose lives are affected by drug or alcohol use. This includes people with a learning disability, autism or mental health needs, where substance use can make everyday life harder and put tenancies, health and relationships at risk.

We offer practical, non-judgemental support in the person's own home or in supported living. We help people stay safe, reduce harm, and work towards the goals that matter to them, at a pace that feels right.

We work closely with local drug and alcohol services, GPs, mental health teams, social workers and families, so each person has joined-up support around them.

HOW WE SUPPORT PEOPLE

Every person is different, so support starts with getting to know them. We carry out a full assessment and build a support plan with the person, looking at their substance use, their health, their home and the people around them.

Day to day, our staff help people manage cravings and difficult moments, keep to routines, attend appointments and stick to any treatment plan agreed with their drug and alcohol service or GP. We support with medication, healthy eating, sleep and looking after physical health.

Many people use drugs or alcohol to cope with stress, trauma or poor mental health. Our staff are trained to spot early warning signs, respond calmly and get extra help quickly when it is needed, including in a crisis.

We also help people deal with the knock-on effects of substance use, such as debt, benefits, housing and staying connected with family and friends.

RECOVERY AT YOUR OWN PACE

Recovery looks different for everyone. For some people it means stopping completely. For others it means cutting down, using more safely or simply getting life back on track. We respect each person’s choices and support them to take the next step when they are ready.

We help people build a life that does not revolve around drugs or alcohol. That might mean new routines, hobbies, volunteering, education or work, and spending time with people who support their recovery.

OUR AIM

Our aim is to help people stay safe, stay well and stay in their home. We want to reduce harm, prevent crises and hospital admissions, and help each person move towards a healthier, more independent life.

Harm Reduction

We help people use more safely, avoid risky situations and know what to do in an emergency. Staying safe and well always comes first, whatever stage someone is at.

Dual Diagnosis Support

Many people live with substance use alongside mental health needs, a learning disability or autism. We support the whole person and work with specialist teams to meet all of their needs together.

Relapse Prevention

We help people understand their triggers, plan for difficult times and keep going after a setback. Steady, consistent support helps people stay on track and keep their tenancy.
